Joe Murphy
Director, Workplace Relations

Joe Murphy has specialised in employment and industrial matters for both private and public sector clients since 2001. He provides clients with strategic advice on discrimination, unfair dismissal, bullying, general protections (including adverse action), harassment and contractual issues.

With more than 15 years’ experience in litigation, Joe has represented clients in a range of tribunals and courts, including Fair Work Australia, the NSW Industrial Relations Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Administrative Decisions Tribunal of NSW, the Supreme Court of NSW & Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and Federal Magistrate’s Court.
 
 
Alison Williams
Managing Editor

Alison is the managing editor for HR Advance. Her role is to bring you relevant and interesting information — whether through daily published articles, analytical commentary or by developing new features to make the site more interesting and accessible.

She has over 25 years' experience in the areas of human resources, industrial relations and employment law, undertaking a mix of hands-on and publishing roles, with the last 10 years spent publishing content for HR Advance, WorkplaceInfo and WorkplaceOHS. 

She has a Masters Degree in Employment Relations from the University of Western Sydney.

With a scientific background, Lia started her career in recruitment for the Australian tech sector.

Lia has a passion for helping her clients further develop their sales and marketing and her role at HR Advance is to build strong relationships with a national network of HR Consultancies.
